Korean Food ! K-FOOD !!

Kami is the MUST GO-TO SPOT for Korean street-styled food like kimbap, tteobeokki, and ramen.
Pre-COVID, we came here a number of times. During COVID, we've gotten takeout and most recently dined outdoors at Kami. They're also doing indoor dining now too.
I have to say each time we've gotten food here it always tastes great. Their food never disappoints.
The ladies are also very courteous and kind. We asked for more banchan (a side dish in Korean) because they were so good.
The lady even gave us extra. Not only did we leave with full bellies we also left with smiles on our faces.

  • For some reason because the plaza is hopping with so many hyped and trendy restaurants, I thought this place was a modern street food concept and hadn't tried it despite living 5 min away.Come to find out they specialize in very humble handmade nuders and hand torn dough, homey classic soups like sujebi, soybean noods, and kalguksu. The stocks are traditional and clean. The restaurant is clean and the service is welcoming. It feels homey, unassuming, no nonsense, and delivers on home style flavors. They have a case of banchan selections to buy and the street food, though yet un-sampled, is definitely classic with rich vibrant rabokki and ttukbokki, ramen soup, gim mari, jeon. A nice and low key place to chat with friends or family alike and definitely an authentic vibe that isn't trying to be fusion or up-charged. My awesome self went as a loner and felt completely comfortable. But I would like to go with a larger party to sample more of the BYO casserole dishes.

  • The interior has been changed to a more hip and happening bunshik restaurant. It's been painted a light green and they have a banchan store set up at the front where the register is. We came on. Wednesday and it appears that their hours vary day to day. The schedule said they close at 3pm on Wednesdays so please note the schedule before visiting. Their kimbap always hits the spot. The pieces aren't too big and just the right size to pop into your mouth. Their fish cake soup comes in a cute bronze pot. This is so so, not really worth ordering. Their jjolmyun however is so delicious. Sweet and tangy with lots of veggies like cabbage! Will come back again to have their spicy rice cakes again.

  • This place really left an impression on me. My friend suggested we come here after SJ Made and a failed lunch attempt, and I am so glad we did. It's a mom and pop shop, hole in the wall Korean restaurant. I honestly never noticed it. I've heard of all the restaurants around it and I've definitely been by it. I guess that's part of the charm of this place. It's such a comforting and cozy restaurant. They are known for their gimbap or Korean sushi. My friend and I shared the spicy tuna gimbap, original gimbap, and tteobokki with deep fries (fried seaweed rolls). Everything was delicious and comforting. It feels homemade in the best way. I'm so glad we got both the spicy tuna gimbap and the original. The spicy tuna was memorable. You can definitely taste the mayo and gochujang (spicy red pepper sauce) in the tuna and it was no joke. It was so spicy that I was turning red LOOOOL One spicy tuna gimbap needed two original rolls to cool my mouth down. It hurts so good, hahaha. The tteobokki was good too! I liked the flavor of it and the cheese is such a nice touch to it. It helps gives it a saltiness from the sweetness of the tteobokki sauce. I also loved the fried seaweed rolls with it. It adds crunch to this meal. The service was great too! You can feel the genuine kindness that goes into their service. It feels like a family member is taking care of you. It was a full house when I went and they did their best to make sure everyone was accommodated. I also noticed most of their customers were Korean so that also gives me validation of how good their food is. I definitely want to come back and try other things.
